Rotating an old twin lens reflex camera on time exposure whilst travelling to and from Geneva airport in January 1973, and a quick revisit in photoshop: photography or art?

We all live in little boxes

This was the final image from a roll of film ~ probably in 1973 or early 1974.

The youg boy had been showing off in the concerete playground constructed from building materials as a sop to being child friendly. He eventually sat down on the edge of the facility, looking at the wall of houses towering like prison cells for some twenty floors above him.

Was this to be his future... living in his little box and only allowed out to the concrete jungle for play or when older to work.

Perhaps in the 70s this was acceptable in the same city where the ousted **** MP swore at and berated the electorate before the the winning ****** MP was allowed to speak.

I know because I heard his rant through the PA system...

My first published photograph...

With an Ilford sportsman camera and local chemist's processing. My parents kept on telling me to take the picture 'now', but I resisted, waiting for the perfect moment when the image was balanced. I won 7 shillings and sixpence (37p but the equivilent of several weeks pocket money as a 10 year old in the early 60s) for the Church of England newspaper's holiday picture of the week.

I dreamt I swam through the door...

Experimenting with old polaroid film and image transfer, this one that did not work as intended produced a surreal and timeless image.

Reflections on minus 2...

I really should have used a tripod with a proper camera, not a digital P&S, cropped the image in camera to remove the bottom rh corner of the quay, and added a circular polarising filter: yes it is so easy to be self critical with the benefit of hindsight, yet reality is that the dog would not have had his walk had I been 'professional' and the light would have changed by the time a real camera was set up. Reality is that there would have been no image without the P&S which slips into my dog hacking jacket and despite limitations will produce reasonable results under reasonable conditions and print to A3+.
